Combing through the Wreckage – Critical Filipinx American 。This is a traditional beaded hair comb or headdress from the island of Mindanao, Philippines. Known locally in the T\'boli culture as a sewat or suwat, it is primarily worn by T\'boli women, as well as other indigenous (Lumad) groups in the Mindanao region, such as the Blaan and Bagobo. Dancers and community members also wear it. Today, it is also used by folk dancers, participants in cultural festivals, and individuals who wish to honor Philippine heritage. It serves as a decorative hair accessory (worn over braids or buns). Its intricate bead patterns reflect the community\'s rich textile and craft traditions. It is traditionally used on special occasions such as weddings, rituals, community celebrations, and traditional festivals (such as the T\'nalak Festival). Historically, the level of detail and materials used in the comb reflected a woman\'s social status and her connection to her cultural heritage. Measure 11 inches
