Vintage 1950。This is a most elegant look from the high fashions of the 1950\'s. This Juliet Cap consists of a sturdy structure covered in velour or velvet on top, then beaded very intricately. This look is just fabulous. Added for you are black beaded gloves to copmplete the look! A Juliet cap is a small open-work crocheted or mesh cap, often decorated with pearls, beads, or jewels, and chiefly worn with evening gowns or as bridal wear. The cap is named after the heroine of Shakespeare\'s Romeo and Juliet, who is sometimes portrayed wearing one. Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. Post war 1940’s and 1950’s saw many women choosing not to wear hats on a regular basis. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance. Generally speaking hats remained small and close to the head. They were now touted as the essential accessory to complete the ensemble. Store Lebel: MARSHALL FIELD & CO. - CHICAGO This is an authentic piece of fashion history!
