Luis and marsha。This is a beautiful and unique design black felt hat from the fabulous forties\'. The round crown is surrounded by a wide, irregular shaped hat with areas where is is bent, upturned at the back, and turned down at the front. There is a cap below the brim with is trimmed with a double band...one is grosgrain, and the one on top is made of a satin-like fabric. There is also a large bow made of the shiny fabric at the back, with black and burgundy grosgrain. There is a long, thin feather emerging from the bow, projecting sideways. This is such an elegant hat! The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials.
